WPTE vs. The Travel Channel Round Two

Well this is an update a story I wrote about a few days ago concerning The Travel Channel and WPTE and their dispute regarding the deal between WPTE and ESPN for a new poker series.

It seems that The Travel Channel failed to notify WPTE whether they wanted to work with WPTE on the new poker series so WPTE went looking for a new partner for it's new series. When the Travel Channel found out about the deal with ESPN they sent out letters to ESPN stating that The Travel Channel had a contract with WPTE. As reported before the WPTE responded with a suit for basically interfering.

Now I don't know if it was the letters, the lawsuit or some other factor but the WPTE has announced that it is back in negotiations with The Travel Channel as ESPN has withdrawn it's offer to buy the broadcast rights for the new series.

We can only hope that these two parties work out their problems and they can continue to offer the high quality poker that is the World Poker Tour.
